100 mile challenge.

remember when I talked about my summer goals? well, one of them was to run 100 miles...
the goal, besides running one hundred whole miles (just sounds crazy, right?), was to get in shape for cross country... culminating in tryouts this week. I am happy to say that they went well!

as for the challenge, I ran just over 70 miles... but I only ended up using about 4 weeks of the summer.. I ran 33 miles in one week (most ever!)... I tried "Kenyan" two-a-day workouts... I started counting walking/hiking mileage... and had a lot of fun.













so now I'd like to invite you to join in... your goal can be 100 miles in a month, a season, a year... walking, running, hiking... the point is just to set a goal and strive to achieve. oh, and for the goal to involve 100 miles and your feet. :) I know you can do it! my reward for running... new shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 14... they are like running on CLOUDS.
when I run, I high-five the plants I pass...
and then I go home and make silly smoothies... this one had peaches, blueberries, soy milk, spinach, Udo's oil, avocado, and protein powder... surprisingly, it didn't taste bad... just had the flavor of weird nothingness, with a hint of vanilla.
