walk (now down memory lane).

oh, it's been so many moons since I teased you with this, but do you remember what I hinted at in the post wind?
the day also yielded a walk filled with treasures
and a new quiet companion...
this, my dear friends, is to come to your vision... at a later date.
Well, today is a later date, though I must admit a much later date than intended (see pause).

Anywho, to the story:
Though this is not my dog (dog-sitting!), I do love her dearly. On the afternoon so long ago it seems (and yet as if yesterday, for I can still feel its warm joy bubbling within me when I think upon it), we simply sat together. I talked to her, and she patiently waited while I knitted. We admired the beauty of the world together and were purely happy in each other's company. She gave me a little luxury of not only a photo shoot with her, but a walk to boot. Here's a sampling of our adventure, as documented:

Photos of the furry friend abound. Aren't her eyes just gorgeous?!

Ok, now for the "walk" part of it... on our little journey we discovered a few treasures, including the multiple shades of magnolia leaves, a white oak leaf, and a rose petal.

Now the leaves have been dried in my big ol' lovely dictionary.
Let me know if you want to see them!

These sweet findings on a short, simple walk remind me of the little joys in life worth noticing. In the long run (or long walk, haha), spending (not "wasting") an afternoon taking pictures, playing with pets, and enjoying the beauty of nature is well worth it... much more important than studying for that chemistry test that I may or may not have gotten a B on

As my indecisive self, I couldn't quite decide which photos were my favorite... slight differences but important nonetheless. Which one, right or left, do you like better, for subjects 1 and 2? Let's see some comment voting! :)

Subject A...
(Blogger was not cooperating, a.k.a. not letting me place pictures beside each other when they both fit! grr! And I was too lazy to open up Photoshop and make a side-by-side.)

Yay, Blogger cooperated! (This would be Subject B, me, of course.)

To wrap up this very long post (thank you for being patient with me!), I whipped up a cute photoshop treat:
Enjoy + share what you think! <3, m.

    2. Thank you! I've enjoyed using the Lumix, though it's actually not mine, but one I was borrowing in between when my trusty ol' Canon point-and-shoot simply stopped working and when I bought my shiny new blue Canon (still point-and-shoot. sigh). Ok, I'll join the 'you know when' chain soon! Looking forward to the feature tomorrow. :) Thanks for everything, Maria!

  2. Hi Monica, I have found your blog through the above Maria :-) I like your reason for blogging and your take on the world and especially your doggy friend! She looks just like my own dear Dulcie (don't you think Maria? uncannily similar!) your photo's are lovely and I love the one of your doggy friend peeing over the leaf facing the camera. You are like me wishing for the ability to buy more than a point and shoot camera and sadly I managed to kill mine and my mums in the space of a few days!! (Don't ask! hoping the insurance will pay up!)

Please pop over to visit one of my blogs Rainbow Days http://rainbowflute.blogspot.co.uk/ and there are links to my others from there including my own little doggy's blog :-) Hope to see you there!

  3. Hi Teri, I'm glad you found my blog through the lovely Maria. :)
Yes, isn't she (the dog) so sweet?! I saw a picture of your dog on your website, and they do look quite alike! :)
Thank you, I do love photography and am happy that others enjoy my work, too. However, I'm not sure which picture you're talking about... the ones with leaves are just to show what we collected on the walk, one of the leaves sitting on the dog's back, one of them on the grass. :) sorry for any confusion there!

Your blog is sweet, and I love how you are focusing on the positive, like I am too! If you ever want to do a guest post, just let me know. oh, and there's a giveaway going on right now, too, for first five followers of the blog...

Hope to see you here again! I'll go spread a little love on your blog! :D
